Beginning a game :: Back
The game begins with all opponents and you at a very early stage of development. You occupy your home system and nothing else. To the right of the screen is your star systems information. You will notice immediately that your system has nearly finished building a Tech 1, Colony Ship. The Tech level is the level at which your system's technology is at. The higher the number the more technologically advanced that system is, thus the stronger and faster the ships built at that system will be.

The Colony Ship is in production first because it is the only ship that can colonize systems so your population can occupy them. The slider bars below represent that systems production levels. At the start of the game, the production levels are all equal which means that each area of production is receiving the same amount of attention. You can change the levels by simply clicking on the slider bar you wish to increase or decrease. Production levels are tied to each other, thus when changing one level, you will notice the other two change to compensate, whether it's an increase or decrease. It takes a turn or two for your production levels to reach the new settings.

To get an overall view of your sector, you can click on the zoom buttons located above the map. Adjacent is the End Turn button. This button signifies the end of your turn and the beginning of your opponents. Early on, there will be very little action and the turns will go very quickly.

There are often keyboard shortcuts associated with frequently used commands (such as zoom and end turn). The shortcuts are shown in the bottom right area of the map, when the cursor passes over the button.

You can de-couple this tool from the web by downloading the stand-alone version below. This would allow you to make server checks right from your very own desktop, doc it, and bypass the web.

New version will have in-game checking and sound prompts for new server additions. Keep in touch.
